Autumn Doesn't Truly Kick in Until October and Libra Season Begins

October became my second favorite month when I was very young for numerous reasons ( I was born in March, lol). First, all of my favorite television shows had returned answering questions from last season’s cliff hangers. Secondly, I was a band kid, it marked homecoming, which meant I got to perform in front of the school, get dressed up and show off my dance moves. October is a very social month and despite the chill in the air there are lots of opportunity to enjoy outside activities. One of my pastime favorites used to be haunted hayrides and warm apple cider at the apple orchards in Michigan.  

Some of my favorite people are born in October under the zodiac sign Libra. Did you know Libras and Lady Justice, the symbolic figure of the legal system have a lot in common? They are both represented by scales. Many of my Libra friends are successful and popular because they tend to look at the facts and evidence before they make judgments. Also, like the legal system Libras are blind to your emotions when it comes to their coins. Libras are known to represent beauty and have a fondness for excellence and luxury.

I know and know of so many prominent Libras, but the following  are three that influenced the world around me without me even realizing it. First you have Kim Kardashian. Kim Kardashian is such a Libra she turned controversy into capital and her families obscure last name into a household one despite being scrutinized on a daily. Her love and sex life has been a topic of national conversation. Yet she somehow managed to obtain a law degree and her family’s financial freedom for generations all while sometimes unknowing influencing millions of women to go through leaps and dangerous bounds to obtain her esthetics.

Next, you have Matt Damon who embodies the Libra spirit of balance, resilience, and money making . It has been quoted that as a child Matt felt as if he didn’t  fit in. That did not stop him from being a high achiever. He made it all the way to Harvard, dropping out just shy of one semester from getting his degree to take a role in a motion picture. Although the movie he dropped out for was not a box office hit, that choice would lead to him becoming a bankable Hollywood star, film producer, and screenwriter. His roles in Good Will Hunting, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and The Rainmaker were extraordinary and will go down in cinematic history.

Finally, speaking of cinematic history, you have Charleston Heston. His career spanned over 5 decades and he was in at least 57 movies. His portrayal of Moses in the Ten Commandments brought to life the biblical story in a way that Sunday school was never able to do. His role in “Planet of the Apes” as  an astronaut sent into a future where apes treated white men like animals was a thesis consideration for me. And his delivery of what seemed to be a prophetic situation in the movie “Soylent”, still won’t allow me to eat anything labeled mystery meat.

The month of October and Libras symbolize the spirit of an acronym that I created  for T.I.M.E  which stands for this is my energy….(T.I.M.E and other educational acronyms are available in my book “My Cap” available on Amazon and recently-retro.com). If you read my blog about August, then you would know that October is originally the eight month of the zodiac, not the tenth. That is significant because the spiritual meaning behind the number 8 centers on balance, infinity, new beginnings, and abundance. It also represents spiritual regeneration, the achievement of higher dimensions, and signifies a period of growth and evolution. Happy Birthday to all my Libras and as I always say whether you turn up or stay sober, I hope no matter what in October love for self and wherever possible for others takeover.
