If you read the title of this blog by singing, "Time Won't Give Me Time" by 80s band Culture Club, the day after daylight savings time sprang forward, welcome! If you have no idea what I am talking about that is okay too. The purpose of this blog is not about music it is about time, and a reminder to appreciate it. Ironically, there could be no music without the element of time.I wrote a book of acronyms called "My Cap" available on Amazon, link on my website. In that book, I created an acronym for time which stands for this is my energy. For a visual explanation of said acronym please visit any of my "recently retro" social media platforms.
Time is both a universal constant and an individual experience. We measure it in seconds, minutes, and hours, yet depend on how you are spending it, it can feel endless or fleeting. Have you heard the saying, time flies when you are having fun? It is true. When I am in a pool or talking with my loved ones, thirty minutes seems like five. But when I am working out, thirty minutes feels like an hour.
Most of us use time to structure our days, coordinate with others, and set goals. Time gives meaning to our experiences. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and other various celebrations are made special because they mark a specific point in time. Whether we’re planning for the future, reflecting on the past, or simply trying to make the most of today, time shapes every aspect of our lives.

Some people believe time is a dimension just as space. We have devised tools like clocks and calendars to measure and organize it, but time itself is woven into the very fabric of the universe. According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, time can even bend and stretch based on speed and gravity, showing us that our daily experience of time is not as construct as we believe them to be. Maybe there is enough time in the day, we are just using it wrong.
Psychologists say our perception of time is influenced by attention, memory, and emotion. That is why we sometimes feel like childhood summers lasted forever, while adult years pass in the blink of an eye. Time is the thread that runs through every story, every achievement, and every memory. Pay attention to how you refer to time. The way we talk about it reflects our underlying beliefs and values.
To know how you subconsciously feel about the time you are utilizing on an activity ask yourself did you “spend” “save”or “lose” time when you were doing said activity? We often hear the saying, “Time is money,” but in truth, time is far more valuable. Unlike money, time can never be regained once it’s gone. While we can’t control how much of it we have, we can choose how we spend it. So spend it wisely because time can give you a lot of things, but not more of itself.
